The Marriage
This is unthinkable. My poor sister Lydia has married Wickham. What was she thinking? Well, she probably wasn't. This marriage has only fueled my anger with Wickham. If only father would have listened to and not let her go to Brighton, then this could have been averted. I only hope they find them before anything else foolish happens.

No, this was not foolish! for the dreadful situation Lydia was in, the outcome was rather good. Your family has rid itself of such an annoyance. And, Lydia is happily married.
ReplyDeletePlease do not feel as if the elopement and marriage were in any way your father's fault. I personally feel to blame because I did not expose Wickham to the public for what he did to my family long ago. It would have ruined his reputation (If it could get any worse) and possibly prevented this current scandal. Also, I wholeheartedly agree that Lydia is a thoughtless girl, for only an idiot would ever like Mr. Wickham.
